  • Designed a linear motion system for a system's perception module

  • Coordinated with the project stakeholders to determine requirements, space claim and  project timeline

  • Created a high-level layout to fit assembly in tight space claim

  • Calculated motor and pulley belt sizing based on math and acceleration requirements

  • Conducted preliminary and and critical design reviews

  • Designed, detailed and released 20+ custom parts

Root-AI Project - Test Bed

Project Summary 

  • Lead the design and fabrication of a test-bed used in the validation and testing of new grippers

  • Required the integration of hardware and pneumatics with a basic electrical circuit and software

  • Featured "hot swap" plates to allow for a quick and tool-less operation of the unit

  • Used a modular design language that allows modification to be easily made or any future tests

Project Steps

  • Coordinated with the project stakeholders to determine the unit's constraints and required features set

  • Generated a theory of operation

  • Created an initial layout design and held a PDR to get stakeholder buy in

  • Held a CDR before releasing and ordering parts

  • Assembled the test-bed and completed validation testing

Skills Learned 

  • Got exposure to working with stakeholders to develop requirements and a working theory of operation

  • Furthered my experience with preparing for and holding effective design reviews

  • Experience with making of basic electrical circuits
