Designed, prototyped and tested end of arm grippers for assembly line robots
Project Steps​
Received gripper configuration and dimensions from the applications engineers
In Solidworks, designed gripper manifold and cover plate to accept pneumatic actuators in the specified configuration
Resized gripper perimeter to accept a stock o-ring for ingress protection
3D printed parts and testing for fit and ingress
Result​
Created drawing for all unique parts and a spec sheet and BOM for each assembly
Made 10 grippers in total to populate company catalog

Soft Robotics Project - Top Mounted Air Feed
Project Summary
Designed a top mounted central air feed post that would comply with safety regulations
Project Steps​
Assembled regulatory and manufacturing constraints along with pain points about existing design
Designed a new mounting system with no downward facing fasteners, a smaller footprint, and got rid on the need for a cover plate
Used apple rubber to correctly size the three air seals and two ingress seals
Tested prototypes met sanitary requirements

Learned how to use apple rubber or sizing o-ring seals
